Tig was born in Jackson, Mississippi, and raised by her single mother in the small city of Pass Christian. The family eventually moved to Texas, where Tig served time in a Texas high school. She failed three grades by entertaining classmates rather than entertaining the notion of a successful academic career, before dropping out in the 9th grade and moving to Denver. Tig and her wife and writing partner, Stephanie Allynne, sold the screenplay First Ladies to Netflix, starring Jennifer Aniston and Tig. She’s written, produced, and/or starred in several critically acclaimed and award winning series and shows. She’s been nominated for several prestigious awards, including Emmy Awards, Grammy Awards, and Critic’s Choice Awards. Her memoir, I’m Just a Person, is a New York Times bestseller, and she’s appeared on numerous talk shows, including Ellen, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and Conan. Tig is a former student of the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies and eCornell Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate program. She can be found on her website.
